Thursday, June 27th, 2013

Thursday began bright and hot.  Kelly was up and out to Paris Bagette for my coffee and a danish that we shared. He also was able to get 100,000 won ($100.00) from a convenient store ATM. It charged a $3.60 service charge. We had another nice walk through the neighborhood deciding this day to tackle the local
Lotte Mart. It is a many story grocery/department/service/parking garage with escalators coming and going, and it continues to be so confusing to us.. some day we will conquer the floor map! We purchased some bananas (over $5.00 for 6) a tub of cherry tomatoes and some cleaning products.
After leaving Lotte mart, we then went to a Pizza Hut (second floor) and purchased a pan pepperoni pizza (6 slices for $14.00). By this time we were hungry.   We enjoyed looking out of the 2nd floor window at the street below while we ate the delicious pizza.

Iced coffee and expresso gelato for me, and a lemonade for Kelly was a nice before lunch treat from Coffee Bene.

We met Aaron at LB later in the afternoon. (He and Jeong Mi and family had a final goodbye ceremony at the memorial park where Jeong Mi's mom urn is placed.) We went shopping with Aaron to a local store that sells many items in bulk for neighboring restaurants and bars. He purchased a number of items that they needed for the bar and I could not help taking the following picture...
YES EVEN IN KOREA!

Aaron treated us to a Red Bean, shaved ice milk dessert from Paris Bagette and we were then able to return to the apartment for a much needed nap. We cleaned up and traveled to Liquor Burger for the first night that it was open since Jeong Mi's mom passed away. How different the bar looked at night!
There were a number of people here when we arrived and we enjoyed meeting them all! Then we had to decide what to have for our first LB dinner!  After reviewing the menu, we both decided on the
"Liquor Burger" (Big B_stard) and we were not disappointed! A beef patty, bacon, hash brown, egg, lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion, and dill pickle. A side of french fries and a drink were included in the deal. A winner for sure!

Yes we are not afraid to admit that we ate the whole thing!!!
Jeong Mi is a very good cook and they have such a wide assortments of food that Kelly and I could have something different for dinner every night!!

We thanked the LB owners and headed back to their apartment for another good nights' sleep!
